Kathy DiGiacomo

Kathy's level of success is the result of mastering the effect of light and color with an extraordinary eye for the intricate beauty of nature.  From the photo journals taken on her travels, she creates beautiful landscape and floral paintings in watercolor and oils.

She studied oil painting and life drawing at The College of the US Virgin Islands.  She also attended art classes for two years under the world-renowned artist Hal Reed.  She continues to study and develop her talent by attending workshops with nationally known artists.  Some of her favorites include Gary Jenkins, Violet Parkhurst, Tony Couch, and Gerald Bormmer.

Kathy has been honored to receive the coveted Grumbacher Award in addition to an endless list including Popular Choice, Best in Show, and Mayor's choice.  Her paintings have been accepted in many juried shows and have met the challenge of several private shows as well.  Many of her paintings now reside in collections throughout the world.

She instructed oil painting classes specializing in color usage with brush & palette knife techniques in her private studio at Rose Gate Hill in St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands.  Kathy currently paints and offers private art classes from her studio at Cody Creek in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Here she is continuously inspired to recreate the historic beauty of the Ozarks.

What is a Giclee?

Giclee [jhee-clay] is a French word meaning “to spray”.  In the printing industry it describes a technique of spraying ink onto the media to produce a 'digital' print.  With the rapid advance of inks designed for the fine art market, and UV coating designed to further preserve color quality, archival of fine art produced by digital print technology is becoming the printer’s definition for quality.
